The Women Police Network aims at enhancing the networking and learning opportunities to promote women’s status and leadership in the police service and facilitate gender just policing practices especially on the issue of crimes against women. The Network is an initiative of the women police supported through the National Police Bureau and steered by a Board of Directors and Women Police Councils at national and organizational levels. The President, Directors and the focal members of the Councils’ act as network leaders, inspiring women police as Network members to promote collective voice and action on gender responsive policing.
As President Women Police Network, it is indeed a source of hope and pride to see this network emerging as a support system for Women Police Officers. The Women Police Network initiated by the National Police Bureau with all police organizations of Pakistan, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan has made substantial strides in creating awareness and enhancing the role of women in Police. Through this network we aim to build the capacity of women, enhance their positioning to utilize their potential and make them a source of inspiration for educated women in the community to join police service. Our future efforts will be aimed at making the network independent and sustainable, nationally and within the provinces.
